Camden Council stands as the fastest-growing council in Australia, forecasting unparalleled community expansion in the upcoming decades. Confronted with a complex terrain of growth challenges, including Australia’s record skilled talent shortage, Camden Council underscores the necessity of clearly defining its Employee Value Proposition (EVP) to secure a dynamic workforce.
In alignment with this vision, The Strategy Group was engaged to craft a distinct Employee Value Proposition (EVP) tailored to attract and retain workforce that is not only diverse and ambitious but also deeply rooted in community values.
The Approach
Tailoring the TSG EVP Framework©️ through extensive employee-centred research and co-design workshops.
The Strategy Group tailored the TSG EVP Framework©️ to the specific needs of the current and prospective Camden Council workforce. The needs and pains of Camden Council employees were identified through extensive employee-centred research, including a series of in-depth 1:1 interviews, co-design workshops with selected employees and the executive leadership group. The inside-out perspective of the Camden Council EVP, combined with extensive external market research (including industry benchmarking) on the outside-in view EVP of Camden Council, provided a comprehensive understanding of the current state and desired future state of the Camden Council EVP.
Outcomes
A highly tailored and actionable EX Strategy was developed to attract and retain a future-fit workforce for Camden Council.
Four employee segments were identified through extensive research conducted by The Strategy Group by extensively analysing unique employee expectations, needs and pain points. Detailed short-term and long-term recommendations were developed to implement the EVP Framework across the four employee segments and the council as a whole. Five EVP Statements were also developed, each specific to each employee segment and council as a whole, to empower the Council to go-to-market to attract the best talent possible to build a community for many generations to enjoy now and into the future.
